Spend a full day immersed in the beauty, symbolism and sensory pleasures of roses and botanicals at Acre of Roses and The Woods Daylesford.
Beginning at 9.30am among the rose gardens at Acre of Roses, you’ll be welcomed by Sandy McKinley for an introduction to the Victorian Language of Flowers and the gentle art of floral colour therapy. In the Apothecary Garden, herbalist and author Caroline Parker (@thecottageherbalist) then hosts a morning tea and cake ceremony and shares the stories and meanings behind traditional apothecary plants. You’ll then wander the gardens to gather your own seasonal roses and botanicals to work with throughout the day.
We then travel to The Woods Daylesford, where a beautiful garden-table lunch created by Deb McLean sets the tone for an afternoon of creativity and connection. Then, guided through composition, styling and storytelling, you’ll develop your own floral image rich with personal meaning, along with hands-on support to create a floral arrangement to take home. Colin Doswell then photographs your finished piece, capturing a refined, professional image that becomes the heart of your keepsake, as the day gently concludes at 5pm.
After the workshop, you’ll receive a simple step-by-step tutorial showing you how to upload your image, add your own message, and prepare your design for printing - transforming your creation into a set of luxurious notecards to send to friends and family the old-fashioned way.
All materials are provided, along with morning and afternoon tea, lunch, and a thoughtfully curated goodie bag to extend the experience beyond the day.
